Proprioceptive corrector

The Proprioceptive Corrector helps dogs that tend to drag their knuckles when walking. This is usually due to an insufficiency of the sciatic nerve commonly called "Knuckling". Our solution helps to support the two central toes, with an elastic cord tightened with a clamp placed over the tarsal area of the dog. This tension is what generates the support, which allows the dog to support the pads correctly and prevents it from dragging the dorsal part of the foot. It is recommended to start using it in continuous sessions of no more than 15 minutes.

Knuckling dogs

When we speak of Knuckling we refer to defect or injury of the carpal or tarsal joint in dogs, resulting in the joint bending forward under the weight of the animal when standing. This usually suggests a proprioceptive deficiency.

Which dogs is this concealer suitable for?

How is it positioned?

1. Centre the cord in the upper front area of the tarsus.
2. Wrap the entire leg and close the Velcro around the upper and lower tarsus area.
3. Check that it is well fixed, adjust the length of the elastic and pass the padded area under the two central fingers.
4. Check tension and adjust the elastic cord to the desired tension.

It is recommended to check the interdigital area every 15 minutes. Especially during the first few days. It is not recommended to use for more than 2 hours at a time.
